Rainy and Sunny

This term we are going to start the 'Adventures of Rainy and Sunny' as you probably know they are our piggy banks. Rainy sits on the desk at Rainbow group and Sunny is at Sunbeams group. As well as collecting odd pieces of change from you and the children (which we use to buy equipment and supplies), we have decided to use a soft toy version of each pig to help the children express themselves during our circle time. This is our plan....each child will get a turn at taking one of the pigs home, and also a diary, we ask the parents then to write down a few things the child, and pig, got up to. We don't want long stories just a few lines, like "we went to Nan's for tea". The child will then be able to tell the rest of the group at circle time what they did together. By having a diary we will be able to help out the less confident children in their discussions. We hope you will assist us in this new project.

Rainy has been on his first adventure with a new friend, and he had some fun.

They have had great fun, they have been to grandmas for tea, shopping, watched someone’s big brother play football and had a wonderful bed time story.
